Job Description
As a System Engineer – Vehicle Energy Management, you will contribute to the development of innovative energy management concepts for next-generation battery electric (BEV) and fuel cell electric (FCEV) vehicles. Working closely with international engineering teams, you will develop simulation models, evaluate vehicle concepts, and support the optimization of energy efficiency and driving range through advanced system engineering methods.
Your tasks:
► Developing and evaluating innovative vehicle energy management concepts to improve energy efficiency and driving range in zero-emission vehicles
► Developing and maintaining modular 0D/1D vehicle simulation models for powertrain and thermal management systems, including batteries, electric drives, HVAC and cooling circuits
► Ensuring compatibility and integration of vehicle simulation models with component and subsystem models from other Bosch business units
► Continuously improving simulation, evaluation and optimization toolchains to increase efficiency and accuracy
► Supporting technology assessments, optimization studies and customer projects by analyzing and presenting simulation results
► Deriving component requirements and loads from vehicle-level use cases to support product development and project acquisitions
► Collaborating closely with international development teams and contributing to cross-functional engineering activities
Qualifications
► BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field
► Solid understanding of automotive powertrain and/or thermal management systems for battery electric (BEV) and fuel cell electric (FCEV) vehicles
► Several years of experience with 0D/1D simulation tools and methodologies, preferably in automotive powertrain or thermal management simulation
► Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar simulation environments
► Experience with Design for Reliability (DfR) methodologies, including component load and lifetime analysis
► Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
► Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in international, cross-functional teams
► Willingness to travel occasionally to Germany
► Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken
