Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Site Forman to support the delivery of projects across critical operational environments including data centres, healthcare facilities, laboratories, and other essential infrastructure sites. Reporting directly to the Projects Team, you will work collaboratively with clients, contractors, consultants, and BGIS teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
The ideal candidate will be organised, solutions-focused, and comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders. You will enjoy coordinating multiple activities, supporting project outcomes, and maintaining strong relationships while working within complex and operationally sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects within live and operational critical environments.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and project controls.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Manage site activities, isolations, permits, and risk controls to support safe project outcomes.
- Oversee project quality, compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate construction, commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
- Support communication and collaboration between operational teams and project stakeholders.
- Travel to client sites across metropolitan Melbourne to oversee project delivery.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering projects within critical environments such as data centres, hospitals, laboratories, or similar operational facilities.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure including HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and associated services.
- Relevant electrical trade qualification or related technical qualification.
- Experience supporting project delivery from planning through to completion.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and workstreams within live operational environments.
- Sound understanding of safety, risk management, and compliance requirements.
Desirable:
- Project Management qualifications or further studies in Construction, Engineering, Electrical Trade or a related discipline.
- Experience working within facilities management or technical services environments.
- Experience with critical infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, or capital works projects.
- Exposure to commissioning, testing, and operational readiness processes.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (HV/LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, etc.).
Workplace Flexibility
To support project delivery and stakeholder engagement, this position is based on-site and includes regular travel to client locations across metropolitan Melbourne. The role is connected to our Melbourne CBD office while providing exposure to a variety of critical environment projects.
