As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Staff Connectivity Systems Engineer As a connectivity systems engineer, you'll define and develop the technologies that underlie the next generation of our products. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in system-level simulations of 100+Gbps/lane electrical and optical links using Matlab, Python and/or other programming languages. They'll also be able to correlate lab measurements with a system model and improve link performance in the lab. You'll work directly on solutions that scale with our customers' emerging demands for AI and infrastructure computing and networking. Together with other members of our engineering groups, you'll develop complete optical and electrical connectivity solutions, including designs in the world's most advanced CMOS technology nodes. What You'll Do: * Perform numerical and analytical modelling and simulation of next-generation electrical and optical links, delivering speeds beyond current 200Gbps/lane standards * Use, enhance, and develop simulation platforms for architectural exploration of new approaches * Derive specifications for components, circuits, and signal processing features in future products * Provide input to our senior leadership, product marketing, and engineering teams on the expected performance and required features of next-generation solutions * Engage and collaborate with other members of the engineering team to turn your ideas into prototypes * Prepare and present analysis internally to marketing and engineering teams and externally to partners, customers, and standards bodies What You'll Need * Master's or PhD degree with 5 years' relevant experience * Experience with and a strong mathematical understanding of the analytical and numerical modelling of system-level electrical and optical communication systems and components at 100+Gbps * Experience interpreting and incorporating measurements of electronic interconnects, amplifiers, and components such as the S parameters, jitter, and SNDR into system-level models * Programming experience in Matlab and/or Python including using AI automation to accelerate development Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
