Electrical Engineering Manager

Location: San Jose, CA

Compensation: $200,000–$235,000 DOE

Schedule: 100% Onsite

Our client is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a talented engineering team developing advanced electronic products within a highly regulated environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced technical leader who enjoys remaining close to the technology while mentoring and developing engineers. The ideal candidate is a true player-coach—someone who can confidently review schematics, troubleshoot technical issues, support manufacturing efforts, and help guide products through the entire lifecycle from concept through sustaining.

You'll work directly with executive leadership and play a key role in shaping the future of the engineering organization while driving innovation across complex hardware platforms.

Overview

  • $200,000–$235,000 DOE
  • 100% Onsite (San Jose, CA)
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Lead products through the full lifecycle: Concept → Design → Validation → Production → Sustaining
  • Partner directly with executive leadership and influence engineering strategy

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Drive the development of advanced electronic products from concept through production.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across electrical engineering, embedded systems, and hardware development activities.
  • Review schematics, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide support to engineering and manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Oversee design validation, manufacturing support, and sustaining engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and executive leadership to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), production ramp efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish project priorities, schedules, and resource plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Must-Haves

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 8+ years of electrical, electronics, hardware, or embedded/firmware engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on engineering leadership or management experience.
  • Experience with camera, imaging, sensors, or similar advanced electronics products within a highly regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, defense, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with electronics, PCB design, embedded firmware, and manufacturing support.
  • Comfortable reviewing schematics, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting engineers as needed.
  • Strong understanding of hardware product development and engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading products through the full lifecycle—from concept and design through validation, production, and sustaining.
  • Background leading cross-functional engineering organizations in a manufacturing environment.

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where you'll have a direct impact on both the products and the people building them. You'll join a collaborative organization that values innovation, technical excellence, and hands-on leadership.

If you're looking for a role where you can continue to solve challenging engineering problems, mentor a high-performing team, and help shape the future direction of an organization, we'd love to hear from you.
