The Opportunity
As Abby Care continues to expand access to high-quality home healthcare services across the United States, we're growing our Care Operations team to ensure every patient encounter is accurately documented and every eligible service is reimbursed efficiently.
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Care Operations Associate – Pre-Billing / RCM Support to support the clinical documentation workflows that enable accurate, timely claims submission to insurance providers and government payors, including Medicaid and Medicare.
In this role, you'll work at the intersection of Care Operations and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), ensuring documentation is complete, compliant, and billing-ready before claims are submitted. You'll partner closely with Clinical, Operations, and RCM teams to resolve documentation issues, reduce claim denials, improve operational workflows, and help accelerate reimbursement.

What You'll Work On
Ensure Billing-Ready Clinical Documentation
Review EVV (Electronic Visit Verification), Face-to-Face (F2F), and Plan of Care documentation to ensure completeness and compliance before claims submission.
Monitor, collect, and validate required clinical documentation to support clean claim generation.
Verify documentation aligns with payer-specific and regulatory requirements.
Support Revenue Cycle Operations
Submit or assist with submitting EVV and related documentation through payer portals.
Track submission status and follow up on delayed, rejected, or incomplete documentation.
Investigate documentation-related billing issues and denials, identifying missing information and preparing cases for correction or escalation.
Maintain accurate documentation status, billing readiness, and follow-up records within internal systems.
Improve Documentation Quality
Identify recurring documentation issues and recommend improvements to forms, checklists, and workflows.
Help strengthen documentation processes that reduce billing delays and prevent future denials.
Share process improvement recommendations with Care Operations and RCM leadership.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally
Partner with Clinical, Operations, and Revenue Cycle teams to resolve documentation blockers impacting billing.
Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from internal stakeholders and payer representatives.
Support team goals through reliable execution, proactive follow-up, and clear communication.
What Success Looks Like
Consistently manages assigned documentation queues with high accuracy and timeliness.
Ensures documentation is complete, compliant, and claim-ready before submission.
Reduces billing delays by proactively resolving documentation gaps.
Maintains accurate tracking records and documentation status across multiple patients and payors.
Identifies process improvement opportunities that improve documentation quality and operational efficiency.
Builds strong collaborative relationships with Clinical, Operations, and Revenue Cycle teams.
What You'll Have
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent healthcare revenue cycle experience may be considered.
2–4 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare operations, or Revenue Cycle Management.
Experience supporting home health, home care, or community-based healthcare services is strongly preferred.
Experience performing documentation review and billing support with limited supervision.
Revenue Cycle & Documentation Knowledge
Strong understanding of the home health revenue cycle and documentation workflows.
Working knowledge of:
Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
Face-to-Face (F2F) documentation
Plan of Care (POC)
Medicaid and Medicare documentation requirements
Familiarity with prior authorization and reauthorization processes for home health services.
Understanding of common documentation deficiencies that contribute to claim denials.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation queues.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy.
Ability to determine when issues can be resolved independently versus escalated appropriately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable collaborating with clinical, operations, and billing teams.
Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR), EVV platforms, billing systems, and payer portals.
Compliance Knowledge
Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
