Your Responsibilities

  • Own the successful delivery of software projects (e.g., robot applications, control and system software, tooling) from requirements through to launch
  • Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and consolidate requirements, and translate them into clear product feature definitions and technical specifications
  • Break down requirements into structured development work packages with well-defined scope, acceptance criteria, and priorities, and drive their completion with the engineering team
  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the product/project backlog in alignment with customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to complete projects within time, budget, scope, and quality requirements
  • Create, maintain, and execute project plans and project management artifacts such as action lists, risk registers, changelogs, and cost plans
  • Establish seamless and effective communication among project members and stakeholders, ensuring all parties are fully aware of project objectives, deliverables, and status
  • Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies, assess their impact, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation strategies
  • Present project status, progress, and decisions clearly to project teams, management, and customers

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant project management experience in software development projects, ideally in robotics, automation, automotive, IT, or related industries; a PhD in STEM fields may be considered in lieu of work experienceDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical
  • Engineering, Robotics, or a related field; or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Proven experience in requirements engineering: capturing customer needs and converting them into technical specifications, features, and development work packages
  • Hands-on experience with agile software development (Scrum/Kanban), including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery; familiarity with hybrid/waterfall setups is a plus
  • Successful track record of delivering at least one software project from requirements through to launch
Good technical understanding of software systems and development practices (e.g., software architecture,
  • APIs, version control, CI/CD), ideally in the context of robotic or embedded systems
Proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence (or comparable tools) for backlog, sprint, and documentation management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • A proactive mindset, strong sense of ownership, and the ability to adapt and remain solution-focused when faced with challenges
  • Proficient communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and customers
  • Availability for business-related travel (approximately 10%), with travel expenses covered by the company

Beneficial Skills

  • Project management, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification (e.g., PMP, PSM, CSPO)
  • Domain knowledge in robotics, industrial automation, or machine learning–based systems (e.g., robot manipulation, perception, or policy training workflows)
  • Experience working directly with external customers in a B2B project delivery context
  • Knowledge of Git-based development workflows
  • German language skills

Your Profile

  • You are a technically fluent project manager who is equally comfortable in a customer meeting and a sprint planning session.
  • You enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity: listening to what customers actually need, shaping it into concrete features and work packages, and driving a team to deliver them with high quality.
  • You take ownership, communicate transparently, and stay solution-focused when plans change, as they often do in a fast-moving robotics environment.
