The Business Growth Marketing Managing Director serves as the senior enterprise leader responsible for shaping and advancing Marketing & Communications strategy across RSM’s core business platforms: Tax, Audit, Consulting, Markets and Industry.
This role oversees the Marketing & Communications leaders aligned to each of these business areas and is accountable for ensuring their strategies are connected, business-relevant, performance-driven and aligned to firmwide and Marketing and Communications priorities. The Managing Director ensures consistency in RSM’s market positioning, messaging and client-facing value proposition across businesses, while preserving the distinctive strategies, buyer needs and growth priorities of each line of business, market and industry.
As a key member of the senior Marketing & Communications leadership team, this role helps translate firm strategy and business growth priorities into integrated Marketing & Communications strategy that strengthen the RSM brand, enables revenue growth and positions RSM as one organization with the ability to address a broad range of client needs across audit, tax and consulting.
Essential Duties
- Lead enterprise Marketing & Communications strategy across Tax, Audit, Consulting, Markets and Industry, ensuring alignment with firm priorities, growth objectives and client needs.
- Serve as the senior Marketing & Communications advisor to business leaders providing strategic guidance on market positioning, growth opportunities and go-to-market strategy.
- Lead, coach and develop Marketing & Communications leaders supporting the firm's lines of business, markets and industries.
- Drive consistent brand positioning, messaging and value proposition across the enterprise while preserving the unique needs of each business area.
- Partner across Marketing & Communications functions, including brand, communications, digital, demand generation, content, research, analytics and sales enablement, to deliver integrated strategies and campaigns.
- Oversee enterprise go-to-market planning, cross-business growth initiatives and integrated client engagement strategies.
- Establish performance measurement, reporting and dashboarding to evaluate effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Lead annual planning, budget management and resource allocation to ensure investments align with firm strategy and business priorities.
- Promote collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the Marketing & Communications organization.
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related field.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications or executive education in marketing, analytics, leadership or change management.
Experience
Required:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in B2B marketing, communications, brand strategy or related fields.
- Experience leading marketing and communications strategy within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated success translating enterprise and business priorities into integrated go-to-market strategies that generate pipeline and support revenue growth, build brand relevance, and strengthen market positioning.
- Experience advising executive leaders and building trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives across marketing, communications, digital, sales enablement, analytics and insights.
- Strong track record of leveraging data, market intelligence and performance metrics to inform strategy and drive results.
- Experience managing budgets, strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Demonstrated success leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Preferred:
- Experience within professional services, consulting, financial services, technology or another knowledge-based B2B environment.
- Experience supporting multiple business lines, industries or client segments.
- Experience leading business transformation, organizational change or marketing operating model evolution.
- Experience working with an executive leadership team.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $223,200 - $422,400Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
