Data Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a Data Engineer on our team, you will gather requirements, design Lakehouse data architecture, build Databricks ingestion and governance pipelines, manage lineage and metadata, optimize data flows, enforce security and access controls, and support multi-cloud analytics and ATO-ready operations. You will also develop documentation including Data Flow Diagrams, Data Ingestion Plans, Storage Architecture Documents, and Lakehouse Integration Plans. Real-time visibility into master data and metadata management is expected to ensure transparency and effective data stewardship.

You Have:
Experience in designing Lakehouse architectures and building Databricks ingestion and governance solutions
Experience in producing Data Flow Diagram and Documentation, Data Ingestion Plan, Data Storage Architecture Document, or Data Lakehouse Integration Plan
Experience managing lineage, metadata, and optimizing pipelines for performance
Experience in developing electronic searchable data dictionaries and maintaining consistency in variable naming conventions across multiple years of data
Knowledge of security, access controls, and supporting multi-cloud analytics
Ability to implement solutions providing real-time visibility into data management, provision, governance and utilization to support transparency, oversight and effective data stewardship
Ability to develop and maintain electronic tools for data dictionary and cohort definition supporting aggregate reporting and sample size estimation
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with Healthcare datasets or federally funded research data sources
Experience with cohort definition tools using ICD-10-C, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS, or NDC system
Experience with Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and compliance in federal environments
Possession of strong communication and collaboration skills, to work across multidisciplinary teams
Advanced Certifications in Databricks, Data Lakehouse, or Cloud Data Engineering
Vetting:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
