SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job DescriptionAs a Senior Manufacturing Manager at our Madisonville, Kentucky site, you will lead team of manufacturing engineers and process technicians within an assigned business organization to drive continuous improvement and meet or exceed operational performance metrics.You could be a strong military fit for this role if you have led efforts to improve maintenance or production processes in the military, acted as the bridge between engineering and operations, validating procedures on the hangar, depot, line, test cell, or ship, and used data analysis to drive decisions.Roles and Responsibilities:Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipmentContribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibilityUse judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineeringTake a new perspective on existing solutionsUse technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendationsAct as a resource for colleagues with less experienceExplain difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensusDevelop persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within fieldIndividuals selected for this internship will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks.Basic Qualifications:Active Military personnel on the last 180 days before exiting Military ServiceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent Military experience)Desired Characteristics:Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborativeProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerLean and/or Six-Sigma experienceExperience analyzing and resolving problemsExperience leading projectsExperience documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programsProject management experienceThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
