Your role and responsibilitiesWe are seeking a dynamic and results-driven SAP Sales Leader with deep expertise in the Energy, Utilities, and Oil & Gas sectors. This role is responsible for leading strategic sales initiatives, driving revenue growth, and building executive-level relationships for SAP-based solutions across the energy industry.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, IS-U, Asset Management, and digital transformation solutions tailored to energy clients, paired with a proven record of selling complex enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for SAP solutions within the energy sector
Drive pipeline creation, progression, and closure of large, complex deals
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
Identify emerging market trends and align SAP solutions to customer needs
Client Engagement
Build and maintain C-level relationships across energy and utilities organizations
Act as a trusted advisor on digital transformation and SAP roadmaps
Lead executive presentations, proposals, and negotiations.
Solution Selling
Position SAP offerings including:
SAP S/4HANA for Energy
SAP IS-U (Industry Solution Utilities)
SAP Asset Management (EAM)
SAP BTP and analytics solutions
Collaborate with solution architects and delivery teams to craft tailored solutions
Team Collaboration
Partner with pre-sales, delivery, and alliance teams
Mentor junior sales professionals and contribute to team growth
Work closely with SAP and partner ecosystems
Required Qualifications
10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with 5+ years focused on SAP solutions
Proven track record of closing multi-million-dollar deals
Deep industry knowledge in:
Energy
Utilities
Oil & Gas
Strong understanding of SAP products (S/4HANA, IS-U, EAM preferred)
Experience working with system integrators or consulting firms
Preferred Qualifications
Existing network within energy sector decision-makers
Experience selling digital transformation or cloud-based SAP solutions
MBA or equivalent business/technical education
Familiarity with sustainability, ESG, and energy transition solutions
10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with 5+ years focused on SAP solutions.
Preferred technical and professional experience• Integration Agreement Knowledge: Deep understanding of integration agreements and their associated incentive plans, including terms and conditions, to inform management and oversight of the unique incentive plan.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Experience working with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective execution of incentive plans, driving seamless execution and communication.
• Incentive Plan Optimization: Deep expertise in optimizing incentive plans to achieve business objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
