The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of custodial services within a Class A commercial facility. This position ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, safety, and customer service are consistently achieved while leading and developing a team of janitorial personnel. The supervisor coordinates staffing, inspections, training, quality assurance, and communication with management to maintain a first-class environment that exceeds client expectations.
Pay: $20 - $22

- Supervise, schedule, and direct the daily activities of janitorial staff across assigned buildings or areas.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed according to established schedules, scope of work, and Class A facility standards.
- Conduct routine quality inspections and promptly address deficiencies.
- Train, coach, mentor, and evaluate employees on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Assign work responsibilities and adjust staffing based on operational needs, occupancy, and special events.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, SDS requirements, infection prevention protocols, and all workplace safety policies.
- Respond professionally to client requests, service tickets, and emergency cleaning situations.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning chemicals, consumables, equipment, and supplies; submit replenishment requests as needed.
- Inspect and maintain janitorial equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Assist with incident reporting, workplace injuries, and corrective actions in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare daily reports, inspection logs, payroll approvals, and operational documentation.
- Maintain professional communication with property management, facility leadership, and internal management teams.
- Participate in after-hours projects, emergency response, and special cleaning assignments when required.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
- Minimum 3–5 years of janitorial or facilities maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience working in Class A commercial office buildings, corporate campuses, healthcare, higher education, or similar environments preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, chemicals, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), MacOS and mobile work order systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, and clients.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 35 pounds), bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials. Employees will be required to wear protective clothing and/or respiratory equipment when conditions warrant.
To operate a vehicle at the customer’s site, employees must obtain an ABM drivers permit per the ABM Drivers Safety MVR registration program. This policy checks for a valid State ID along with a citation background check, and those with high-risk driving habits will need additional driver education to obtain the permit. Employees who operate company vehicles must consistently meet the requirements of the Facility Vehicle Safety Program.
