Food Safety & Quality Coordinator
We currently have an opportunity for a Food Safety & Quality Coordinator to join our Health & Education team. Based within the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) Patient Kitchen, this role plays a key part in maintaining safe, high-quality patient food services while supporting operational excellence, audit readiness and ongoing compliance.
Reporting to the Patient Food Services Manager, you’ll help deliver high quality outcomes that support our essential services.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Coordinate the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the RAH Patient Kitchen Food Safety Program.
Monitor compliance with legislative requirements, the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code, client requirements and Downer policies.
Coordinate internal audits, support external audits and manage corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
Deliver food safety inductions, toolbox talks and coaching to supervisors and frontline teams.
Analyse compliance trends, investigate food safety incidents and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Relevant certificates or qualifications in training and food safety.
Demonstrated experience coordinating food safety systems in large-scale food production, healthcare, aged care or hospitality.
Experience maintaining Food Safety Programs based on HACCP principles.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing, reporting and data analysis.
Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence behavioural change.
