We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager, Software Engineering to lead our Aktiv development team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical innovation, managing a group of engineers, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions across various platforms and technologies. As an Manager, Software Engineering, you will guide team members to success, foster collaboration, and create a culture of continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of high-performing engineers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful environment.

  • Performance Management: Provide continuous feedback, address performance, and recognize contributions. Maintain visibility into team health through regular 1:1s.

  • Strategic Planning: Lead strategic initiatives, balancing high-impact projects with technical debt management and resource allocation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product and Design teams to define roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused products.

  • Technical Excellence: Foster continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and team processes.

  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts, facilitate decision-making within the team, and manage cross-functional relationships.

You are:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, OR at least 7 years of industry experience building and shipping software.

  • Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading software engineering teams, growing talent, and navigating complex technical problems.

  • Product Delivery: Demonstrated experience shipping both web and mobile products at scale.

  • Technical Background: Prior hands-on experience as a software engineer (Java and/or React preferred).

  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to decompose complex business problems into actionable technical plans.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
