How you’ll make an impact in this role

• 40 hours per week
• Participate as a surgical team member in the preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon's preference cards with appropriate instruments, resources and supplies.
• Position patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Implement physician’s orders to provide visualization of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning and irrigation.
• Assist with body plane closure, application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems. Utilize appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room credentialed from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI).

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire
