Core Job Responsibilities
1. EHS Strategy, Leadership & Governance
- Develop and execute the site EHS strategy, roadmap, KPIs, and budget in alignment with Global EHS strategy, sustainability goals, and Together Towards Zero initiatives.
- Lead and manage the EHS team to ensure legal compliance, achievement of EHS objectives, and smooth plant operations.
- Establish and implement EHS policies, standards, procedures, SOPs, and guidelines in accordance with local regulations and corporate requirements.
- Coordinate with Global/APAC EHS teams to deploy corporate EHS initiatives, programs, and best practices across the site.
- Build strong EHS leadership accountability and continuously improve EHS culture through campaigns, workshops, forums, and employee engagement programs.
2. Compliance, Audits & Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and Chemical Management regulations.
- Manage all EHS permits, licenses, certifications, and statutory requirements.
- Serve as the primary representative for announced and unannounced inspections, audits, and assessments conducted by government authorities and external agencies.
- Coordinate legal reporting requirements and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely submission of all internal and external EHS reports and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and lead site participation in Global, Division, and Corporate EHS audits and compliance programs.
3. Risk Management & EHS Systems
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation programs for processes, equipment, chemical usage, facilities, and operational changes.
- Oversee Management of Change (MOC), Chemical Management System (CMS), corrective action management (CAR), machine safety, and incident management systems.
- Monitor and continuously improve EHS performance through inspections, audits, observations, and data analysis.
- Ensure lessons learned and best practices are effectively shared and implemented across functions and sites.
- Drive preventive and corrective actions to eliminate hazards and reduce operational risks.
4. Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazardous situations.
- Identify root causes and develop effective corrective and preventive action plans.
- Track closure and effectiveness of corrective action requests (CARs).
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents, environmental impacts, and operational risks.
5. Safety Culture & Employee Engagement
- Drive BBS, SWA, Zero Accident Campaigns, Safety Suggestions, Safety Inspections, and other EHS engagement initiatives.
- Enhance employee awareness and ownership of EHS responsibilities across all departments.
- Develop and implement effective EHS communication strategies through online platforms, intranet, videos, posters, radio announcements, workshops, and other communication channels.
- Foster a proactive safety culture among employees, contractors, suppliers, and visitors.
- Enhance process safety & loss prevention program well implemented & compliance
6. Training & Capability Development
- Develop and maintain the EHS training strategy, competency matrix, and annual training plan.
- Conduct and facilitate EHS training programs in accordance with legal and corporate requirements.
- Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors receive appropriate EHS orientation and training.
- Continuously enhance EHS competency through online learning, workshops, simulations, and refresher programs.
7. Environmental & Sustainability Management
- Lead environmental management programs, including waste, emissions, chemical handling, resource efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
- Oversee wastewater treatment operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and business requirements.
- Develop and execute environmental improvement projects supporting sustainability goals and site growth plans.
- Monitor environmental performance and implement initiatives to improve resource conservation and environmental protection.
- Support implementation of sustainability programs related to People, Material, and Planet objectives.
8. Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene
- Lead Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and employee wellness programs.
- Ensure effective monitoring and control of workplace health hazards and exposure risks.
- Develop action plans to sustain occupational health and safety for employees, contractors, suppliers, and visitors.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
About 01-03 employees are directly managed
Job requirements
- Vietnamese only
- At least 10 year in EHS management experience with proven experience in managing manufacturing environment with +50 employees (safety in production environments with engineering exposure)
- Environmental (water, emissions...) and fire fighting experience with local government and departments.
- Positive attitude to work and challenges. Important to fit a Global company, with multiple layers of requirements and regular audits to secure adherence
