Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician Level 1 to join our Manufacturing and Production team of qualified, diverse individuals in Bethpage, NY.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Reads, interprets and writes Work Instructions, schematics, wire lists, and drawings.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform assembly, checkout, routine testing, of Electro-mechanical prototype, development & production harness & cable products.
  • Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering drawings such as assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, fabrication, modification, checkout and test.
  • Ensures quality of the hardware is maintained and company procedures are followed. Ensures work is done with completeness, accuracy, adherence to operation sheets, ISO procedures, schedules, and assign tasks. Provides regular communication to shop leads and Work Center management on status and technical issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in Manufacturing Cable and Harness building
  • High School diploma or GED and hobby/technical related experience in mechanical, composites, body work, electrical, or other dexterous activities.
  • Basic Electronic skills (AC/DC/resistance measurements)
  • Good Mechanical skills (Experience with hand tools, DMM)
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Willing to work overtime on occasions as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent soldering skills: IPC J-STD-001: Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies certified
  • Experience with Manufacturing Cable and Harness and ISO processes
  • Able to read drawings and schematics
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Experience with Assembly harnesses
  • Ability to read wire list

Primary Level Salary Range: $47,200.00 - $78,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
